Cats are the most popular pet in the United States. Although 78% of owners consider their cats to be family members, many cats, particularly seniors, do not receive appropriate preventative care. Cats have many diseases not shared by dogs, such as Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodefeciency Virus. Many of the unique disorders and diseases seen in cats can be preventable with vaccination and a good health monitoring program.
